I am a self-proclaimed nerd (see Funstuff), that has loved reading and writing since before my writing was legible. I am the Managing Director and Owner of Other World Press. I am the oldest of five children and mom of three amazing children whom I love so dearly. I’ve been married to my sweetheart, Tim, for thirteen years and we live in beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. I am also a Christian. I will always love discovering a new book, and keeping up with all things geek. You’ll typically find me reading a novel, wearing gorgeous earrings and a geeky cartoon T-shirt. The more I write, the more I thrive on it and love creating new worlds.

My current projects are The Mer Archives which has six books and five short stories planned, along with a collection of Fairy-tales, starting with Red’s Hood. I blog when I can, do book reviews and enjoy cooking up good stuff in my kitchen (see Recipes). I also love movies and frequent the theatre and own 700+ DVDs. My writing includes novels, screenplays, short stories, the occasional poem, and novels in serialized form where you read small sections at a time. Several of my poems and short stories have been published, and my first novel was released in June 2015. I have a strong desire to reach out to all young authors, especially through my Classroom Lessons. My favourite books to curl up with are regency romances and YA urban fantasies when the world is crafted really well. That or I just reread any of the Harry Potter books for the 20thousandth time.

‘About Me’ Q & A … an imprint in time of my life

Feb 23, 2016
My uniform …
I like to think of it as ‘geek chic’ with lots of contrasts which other more fashionable people would describe as a fashion don’t. (ie heels with a sundress) I love bright colours, geek t-shirts, and my yoga pants. Patterned, fun, and bright socks are pretty much always on my feet. And because I’m a human popsicle, I’ve got a bazillion different sweaters to keep me warm (but my oversize maroon one is my go-to while writing or working).

Creative fuel … Dreams during rem sleep. And hilarious dialogue I’ve overheard people actually say. My imagination kind of runs on a constant loop, so I tap into it a lot.

Geeky fascinations … science, astronomy, new ideas about the universe, coin collecting, book to film adaptations, chemistry

Greatest weaknesses … chocolate, white chocolate, cheese cake, cranberry ginger ale, pie, a good book, netflix

My books are organized by … series & how they fit on the shelf, fiction I read a lot, fiction I sometimes read, non-fiction, religious books

Jeopardy categories I would dominate … Harry Potter, computers, movies of the 80’s and 90’s, Twilight, Georgette Heyer, Food Network tv shows

On my nightstand … Sailor Moon, Arabella by Georgette Heyer, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling, the Standard Works (the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Price, and the Doctrine & Covenants) printed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints, Martin Luther King Jr Biography by Clayborne Carson, and Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage.

Fictional best friends I’d love to have… Hermione Granger, Sam and Dean Winchester, Anne Shirley, and Leia Organa-Solo.

Music I rock out to … Soundtracks from my favourite movies (especially Guardians of the Galaxy), Taylor Swift, Natasha Bedingfield, an array of 90’s bands, Avril Lavigne, Imagine Dragons, Demi Lovato, BNL, and Paramore. I stick with my same Youtube playlist a lot.

I love to write about … Romance, fantasy, urban fantasy, fairy tales, science fiction, Christian fiction, and time travel.

I fangirl about … Star Wars, Sailor Moon, Disney movies, Twilight, Eragon, Harry Potter, Star Trek, all Marvel movies, Superman (including Smallville), Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory and The Vampire Diaries.

Me and my siblings. Yes, we are that crazy.
